Entry
Lhasa (D)
Upon your arrival in Lhasa,
you will be met by our guide and escorted
to your hotel. Visit the Nietang Buddha
on the way. |

02 |
Lhasa
(BL)
Visit the Potala Palace, the Sera Monastery,
the Norbulingka and a Tibetan family.
Potala
Palace: Perched
upon Marpo Ri hill, 130 meters above
the Lhasa valley, the Potala Palace
rises a further 170 meters and is the
greatest monumental structure in all
of Tibet.
Sera
Monastery: One
of the three largest monasteries of
Gelugpa. Sera in Tibetan means Wild
Rose Garden since opulent wild rose
woods once grew around it. Sera Monastery
is as prestigious as Drepung and Ganden,
which had a longer history.
Norbulingka: Dalai
Lama's former summer palace, constructed
in the 18th century, is a mastrepiece
of Tibetan art. |

Lhasa

Visit the Jokhang Temple,
the Drepung Monastery, the Tibet Museum
and the Barkhor Street.
Jokhang
Temple: The spiritual
center of Tibet. Everyday pilgrims from
every corner of Tibet trek a long distance
to the temple.
Drepung Monastery:
The largest and richest monastery ever
in Tibet, it was founded in 1416, the
monastery covers a floor space of more
than 200 thousand square meters. At
its peak, it had a registration of more
than 10,000 thousand monks. Many high
and learned lamas had learned here.
Tibet Museum: The
first large-sized comprehensive modern
museum in the Tibet Autonomous Region;
it is a brilliant literary and arts
palace of the Tibetan people, a gem
of Tibetan civilization and a treasure
house of Tibetan cultural relics.
Barkhor
Street: A circular
street, which is the oldest street in
Lhasa and remains very traditional.

Lhasa - Gyangtse
(BLD)
Drive to Gyangtse, visit the Yamdrok
Yumtso Lake
on the way. Enjoy the scenery of the
Karola snow mountain.
Yamdrok Yumtso Lake: One of the
four holiest lakes in Tibet, Legend
says that a fairy descending to the
earth formed the bright turquoise blue
lake. Yamdrok Yumtso is also a pilgrimage
site - it is believed that its water
restores youth, prolongs life and even
makes children smarter. |

Gyangtse - Shigatse
(BLD)
Visit the Palkhor Monastery.
Drive to Shigatse - the second largest
city in Tibet.
Palkhor
Monastery: The Monastery has an
unusual structural style and houses
a collection of pure silk costumes worn
in Tibetan opera, all richly embroidered,
that date from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Shigatse - Dingri
(BLD)
Visit the
New Palace of Panchen and the
Tashilhunpo Monastery.
Drive to Dingri, visit the Sakya Monastery
on the way.
Tashilhunpo
Monastery: The huge monastery, built
in 1447, was once inhabited by over
4000 monks. It is the seat of the Panchen
Lama. The Grand Hall contains the tomb
(containing more than 85 kg gold and
lots of jewels) of the 4th Panchen Lama.
There is a 27 m high statue of the Maitreya
Buddha.
Sakya
Monastery: Construction of the Sakya
Monastery was begun in 1073 by Kung
Gung Quijiepuo on the orders of Basba.
It resembles a castle in typical Yuan
Dynasty style. The monastery contains
over 10,000 volumes of Tibetan books
on astronomy, medicine, calligraphy,
and history. |

Dingri - Zhangmu

Drive to Zhangmu - the major trading
post between Tibet and Nepal. |

After breakfast, transfer
to Friendship bridge of the border to
Nepal and see you off. end of service.

All normal sightseeing tours in each
city with English-speaking guide and
admission fees where applicable. Our
guide will not fly with you from one
city to another. Upon your arrival at
each city, a new local guide and driver
will pick you up, be with you for local
tour and see you off after you finish
the itinerary of each city. The cruise
shore excursion is in-group assigned
by the cruise company.
