Entry
Lhasa (D)
Upon your arrival in Lhasa,
you will be met by our guide and escorted
to your hotel. Visit the Nietang Buddha
on the way. |

02 |
Lhasa
(BL)
Visit the Potala Palace, the Sera Monastery,
the Norbulingka and a Tibetan family.
Potala
Palace: Perched
upon Marpo Ri hill, 130 meters above
the Lhasa valley, the Potala Palace
rises a further 170 meters and is the
greatest monumental structure in all
of Tibet.
Sera
Monastery: One
of the three largest monasteries of
Gelugpa. Sera in Tibetan means Wild
Rose Garden since opulent wild rose
woods once grew around it. Sera Monastery
is as prestigious as Drepung and Ganden,
which had a longer history.
Norbulingka: Dalai
Lama's former summer palace, constructed
in the 18th century, is a mastrepiece
of Tibetan art. |

Lhasa
(BL)
Visit the Jokhang Temple,
the Drepung Monastery, the Tibet Museum
and the Barkhor Street.
Jokhang
Temple: The spiritual
center of Tibet. Everyday pilgrims from
every corner of Tibet trek a long distance
to the temple.
Drepung Monastery:
The largest and richest monastery ever
in Tibet, it was founded in 1416, the
monastery covers a floor space of more
than 200 thousand square meters. At
its peak, it had a registration of more
than 10,000 thousand monks. Many high
and learned lamas had learned here.
Tibet Museum: The
first large-sized comprehensive modern
museum in the Tibet Autonomous Region;
it is a brilliant literary and arts
palace of the Tibetan people, a gem
of Tibetan civilization and a treasure
house of Tibetan cultural relics.
Barkhor
Street: A circular
street, which is the oldest street in
Lhasa and remains very traditional.

Lhasa - Shigatse
(BLD)
Drive to Shigatse -
the second largest city in Tibet. Visit
the
New Palace of Panchen
and the Tashilhunpo Monastery.
Tashilhunpo
Monastery: The huge monastery, built
in 1447, was once inhabited by over
4000 monks. It is the seat of the Panchen
Lama. The Grand Hall contains the tomb
(containing more than 85 kg gold and
lots of jewels) of the 4th Panchen Lama.
There is a 27 m high statue of the Maitreya
Buddha. |

Shigatse - Gyangtse
(BLD)
Drive to Gyangtse. Visit the Palkhor
Monastery on the way.
Palkhor
Monastery: The Monastery has an
unusual structural style and houses
a collection of pure silk costumes worn
in Tibetan opera, all richly embroidered,
that date from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Gyangtse - Tsetang
(BLD)
This morning we will visit the Yamdrok
Yumtso Lake, enjoy the beautiful scenery
of Karola snow mountain. Drive to Tsetang
in the afternoon.
Yamdrok
Yumtso Lake: Yamdrok Yumtso is one
of the four holiest lakes in Tibet,
Legend says that a fairy descending
to the earth formed the bright turquoise
blue lake. Yamdrok Yumtso is also a
pilgrimage site - it is believed that
its water restores youth, prolongs life
and even makes children smarter. |

Tsetang
(BLD)
Visit the Tumuli of Tibet Kings, The
Yumbu Lakang and The Trankdruk Monastery.
Tumuli
of Tibet Kings:
The only tomb group of Tibet. Here buried
the kings, ministers and some royal
concubines from the 29th generation
to the last (40th) of "Tupo"
Dynasty. Of all the tombs, the most
remarkable one is King Songtsan Gampo's.
Yumbu Lakang: The
oldest-known dwelling in Tibet, its
construction surrounded by various myths
and legends associated with the founding
of the Tibetan civilization. One such
myth tells that King Nyatri Tsenpo descended
from heaven in the 2nd century BCE to
build the castle. Another legend claims
that the 28th King of Tibet, Lha Totori
Nyentsen, resided here late in the 4th
century.
Trankdruk
Monastery: The
monastery is famous throughout Tibet
since it was the first Buddhist chapel
ever built in Tibet. |

Tsetang
(BLD)
Ferry the Yarlong Tsangpo
River to visit the Samye Monastery.
Yarlong
Tsangpo River:
Originating from a glacier on the north
Himalayas, Yarlong Tsangpo River is
the highest river on the earth with
an average altitude of more than 4,000
meters (13,120 feet). The river is the
largest river in Tibet and the sixth
longest in China. Samye
Monastery:
The monastery has a history over 1200
years, being the 1st monatery, it was
built in 761. The 5th TobuKing Chisong
Duosan sent envoys to Kashmir and India
to invite famous lamas to teach Buddhism
in Tibet. The monastery had been combined
the Chinese, tibetan and Indian styles.

the itinerary of each city. The cruise
shore excursion is in-group assigned
by the cruise company.
