 It
is so named because the lake is as beautiful
as West Lake in Hangzhou but has a slender
and elegant characteristic of its own. Slender
West Lake lined with weeping willows and
classic pavilions is one of the most beautiful
sights in Yangzhou. The Lake looks just
like a mountains and waters painting scroll,
which contains not only natural scenery,
but also unique Yangzhou gardens style,
being one of the famous spots in China
 The
park around the lake is landscaped as a
classic Chinese style garden. There are
numerous sights along the paths such as
the White Dagoba Tower modeled after the
one in Beijing, the Five Pavilion Bridge,
built to welcome emperor Qianlong in 1757,
and Xiao Jinshan, a small hill with several
buildings that sits in the middle of the
lake.
