1 Day Beijing Hutong Tour By Rickshaw To
Bell Tower, Prince Gong's Mansion, Yonghegong Lama Temple And Yashow
Tour code: HT_01
|| Beijing (Lunch)
Our guide will meet you in your hotel
at about 9:00 am. Rickshaw is the basic means of the whole-day
transportation. Tour to the hutongs in Shichahai area. Visit
Prince Gong's Mansion and the Bell Tower. You also have the
opportunity to visit a local family. Have lunch with the locals.
After lunch, move on to Yonghegong Lama Temple. Stroll around
the Yashow Flee Market to find goods you like. Enjoy bargains
with sellers! After that, return to your hotel.
Prince Gong's Mansion: Located
near Shichahai Lake, this fine example of ancient Chinese architecture
with its cultural connotations is known as one of the most ornate
and extravagant residence compounds in all of Beijing. It is
now a museum. The garden in the mansion covers 28,000 square
meters, and is surrounded by man-made hills on four sides.
Bell Tower: A 33-meter-high
edifice with gray walls and a green glazed roof. Bell Tower
and Drum Tower are visibly prominent constructions and represent
the symbol of this old city. Bell Tower is located north of
the Drum Tower and was first built in the 9th year of the Zhi
Yuan period of the Yuan Dynasty (1272). Later it was burnt down.
It was reconstructed in the 10th year of the Qian Long period
of the Qing Dynasty (1745).
Lama Temple: The lamasery was built in 1694. The temple's
bell tower is the first structure reached after passing through
the front gates, but the huge bell itself has been placed outside
the tower for all to see. The temple is a working lamasery so
it's closed early in the mornings for prayer. With its beautifully
landscaped gardens, stunning frescoes and tapestries, and incredible
carpentry, the temple is a must for your Beijing trip!
Market: a free market near the embassy area where
you can find a number of duplicates of clothing in traditional
Chinese style such as clothes, caps, gloves. Enjoy bargains
with sellers! Return to your hotel.
